My little princess turned 4 this past weekend & I just can’t believe it.
When we asked her what kind of party she wanted no one died of shock when she said a ‘Princess Party’. I was impressed however with her idea to have a girl’s only beauty parlor party. Different & pretty easy to pull off as long as it’s a small party, I like the way she thinks.
The royal attendees came dressed as their favorite princess & then had their hair & makeup done by Snow White as well as glitter tattoos & manis by Cinderella. (Tip- hire your babysitters for party entertainment & make them wear cheap costumes from Amazon. Also I ordered this Princess and Hearts Professional Glitter Tattoo Kit, it was awesome)
The decor colors were pink, pink & pink with a splash of pink for accent. Our house looked like someone projectile vomited glitter pepto bismol everywhere…Sam was ecstatic.
Poor Kim, er Cinderella. Eventually us moms were even jonesing for a glitter tattoo. (And I didn’t even serve us alcohol, I swear!)I thought Sam would like it if I dressed up & yes, perhaps I liked having an excuse to partake in a little princess gown indulgence. It was also finally a reason to wear my pink poofy Forever 21 dress that has been stashed in the back of my closet since 2001. My mom said if I put a crinoline underneath it would look like Carrie Bradshaw’s famous tutu dress. Hmm, perhaps I’d be brave enough for that one day, perhaps. But probably not.
I don’t know what I was talking about when P took these pics but it certainly looks like an exciting story. “and then, I walked into the clearance aisle at Kmart & found DORA NIGHTGOWNS FOR FOUR DOLLARS!!”
We kept things simple with food trays from Chick-fil-a & a bakery bought cake & cupcakes. How amazing is this cake you guys, & seriously, it was crazy delicious! (‘pink velvet’ flavoring, yum!)Oby from Bim’s Cakes did a PHENOMENAL job, I highly recommend using her for affordable custom made cakes. She actually works in New Jersey but bakes from Maryland occasionally as well. I met her as a bloggy friend over a year ago & was thrilled to finally order one of her creations, you can check out her blog here.
Also amazing was Sam’s Sleeping Beauty dress. I ordered it from ‘My Fairy Godmother’s Closet‘ on Etsy & couldn’t be happier. If you’ve ever spent the money on one of those scratchy, horrible, pricey Disney Store dresses (raising hand) then please take the time to look into a custom made dress from a seamstress on Etsy. It’s beautifully crafted, hand-made in the USA & will absolutely be a keepsake she can hold onto for a very long time.I have no doubt however that Sam’s favorite present was having her Nana & Aunties here.
My mom & sisters Rebecca & Maggie all flew up from Florida for the weekend & it was wonderful. We’re sad to see them go. That’s why you haven’t heard much from the me the past few days, we’ve been crazy shopping spending quality time together. (PS- there’s an amazing sale going on at the Juicy Couture store in Tyson’s, I’m talking $300 dresses for $50 & bags for even less!)
At the end of the party Sam threw her arms around me & said, “Mommy, this is the best birthday party EVER!” Ugh, those are the moments my friend that make every bit worth it. Love that kid, happy birthday my beautiful big girl.

Wow, that does look like the best party ever for a 4 year old. Nice work mama!

Hey Natasha,
The pictures are really nice! Sam look like she was having a GREAT time! Nice to see your mom and sisters were able to come up and spend time with the family for this special occasion. Thanks for sharing.
Allison
I didn’t realize Snow White had a foot tattoo 😉 Very Very cute!
Natasha
LOL! You didn’t know that?? Disney must have forgotten to mention it. It’d be pretty funny if she had an apple with an “X” through it!
Nicole
You’re seriously the BEST mom EVER! Very impressed with your creativity and style and looks like your little princess had a fabulous time. Cherish those moments..it all goes by so quickly.
Love your blog!
Heather
So cute! Looks and sounds like Sam had a great birthday! They grow up way too fast!
You should probably write this into Bravo and teach some of those “Real Housewives” how to really throw children birthday parties 😛
Nora
I didn’t realize you and your sisters were all SO adorable! Awesome birthday party this is definitely something I’m going to have to do for Lucy!
Charity
You look so pretty in your ‘princess dress’ =) I love the way you wound the streamers around the stairs. It looks like a very girly, very pink party. =)

I’m 24 and would kill to have a birthday like this! Maybe i’m just overdramatic (well, not maybe…) but this brought tears to my eyes. What a lucky girl Sam (& Sophie) are to have such a wonderful family that will do anything and everything to make sure they have the best birthdays, etc. Congrats – you get mother of the year award 🙂
Natasha
Thank you so much Kelly, that is so sweet!
LisaY
What a wonderful party!!! Sam and Sophie are so lucky to have such a creative mom like you!!!
Can I get invited to the next one? 😉 LOL

UH-OH. Admitting to eating Chick-fil-a amounts to taking a political stance this week. I hope this doesn’t mean you don’t love “the gays,” Natasha, because I’m betting they love you as much as you love glitter. 🙂
Natasha
Oh my gosh, I know right?? I’m so mad at chick-fil-a & thought of boycotting but my nugget addiction is pretty bad, I don’t think I’d last a week! I just know I’d sneaking waffle fries in my closet.

Ok so our girls not only share VERY close bdays (mine turned 4 yesterday!) but they have the same dollhouse! I vote we be buddies, pronto 😉 our girls would have so much fun together…why are all the cool people so far from me?! 🙁 Great party :))
Natasha
Ugh! Virtual besties we will be.

OMG what an amazing party!!! As an adult I would love a party like this (hint hint to any of my friends reading this) BTW that last pictures is the most heart-meltingest picture ever! <3
Angela
“Someone projectile vomited litter pepto.” Best line ever.
Sam looks so happy. Happy birthday!
Angela
Ugh. *glitter
Sorry.

This looks like the most fun party ever for a princess!!! I especially liked your detail on the staircase, looks like it took a lot of patience. I am not sure what I liked the best: glitter tattoos, the real life princesses that helped with the beauty parlor, the pink pink and more pink! Way to go, Mommy! Happy Bday, Sam!
Caitlin
Your daughters are adorable and I am super jealous of Sam’s birthday parties! (the mermaid one and the princess beauty parlor!)
Stephanie
Hi Natasha! You inspired me to have this type of princess party for my daughter. Can you tell me where the adult princess costumes are from? Thanks!
Natasha
Awww, thanks Stephanie! That party was by far my favorite event I’ve ever hostessed. It was just so over the top pink & frilliness…just about magical. I bought the costumes & snow white wig off of amazon. My pink poofy dress was from Forever 21. Now that prom is over I bet you could find a poofy dress of your own pretty cheap!
