I was going through my pics and saw that I never showed you this table I made over, an absolute treasure find for the blog since I haven’t felt like making anything new. Although I did clean out the craft room yesterday & am tempted to sew Sam a little sweatshirt dress during her nap…
Anyway, we have this set of ugly glass top end tables in the basement that are from my husband’s bachelor days. I needed something to add some height to an empty corner in my livingroom so I decided to trash the glass top, spray paint the base a velvety chocolate brown & fill a vase with some branches I cut off a tree in the backyard, here’s the before & after…The sleeping golden is part of my decor, don’t be fooled. Another trick is to use an uplight (see the white one on the floor?) to give even more height to an object. It’s hard to tell during the day but at night the branch shadows reach all the way up to the ceiling, very dramatic. Helps to take your eye off the giant pile of toys just off camera too.
Also if my pictures seem a bit blurry it’s because I kept feeling like there was something on my back…hmmm…

Cute!!! I'm working on an ugly table/cabinet as we speak!
My dog ends up in many of my posts as well!

Nice touch! Love the one of Sam on your back. At least she's an incredibly cute accessory.
