That’s what we almost had today, at least it felt that way. But more on that in a minute…
1st off, sorry I had to disappear on you for a few days. We decided to take one last quick vacation & took the train up to Connecticut to see my in-laws & take Samster to the beach.
(As I’ve mentioned before I don’t like to post about when we’re going out of town because I’m super paranoid that some Internet creeper is going to use the opportunity to break into our house, move into my closet & secretly spy on me for weeks before popping out at 2a. I know, I could use therapy.)
It was hot as can be but we did have a really good time…we kept trying to savor our time with Samster & show her lots of attention since she’s about to get her little world rocked.I’ve been having some contractions on & off for a few weeks now but starting on Friday evening while we were gone they got more intense than I’m used to. They never got closer than 20 minutes apart though so when I gave the Dr a call she wasn’t too worried. I went to sleep & eventually they wore off. Until the next morning, when we’re sitting in the Connecticut train station, about to get on a 4 hr train trip…they started up again about every 15 minutes. We contemplated our options & in the end I told P that I felt very confident that even if this was early labor I wasn’t going to be popping out a baby in the next 5 hours & we should be fine to get home. And it’s a good thing we did get on our train because a terrible storm came through right after we left & knocked out all train service! People on the train after us got stuck for 2 hours in the train with no a/c! Oh my gosh, I would have DIED. Seriously, if we had decided to wait a bit & take the next train & I had been stuck on a hot stuffy train for 2 hours with a 2 yr old we’d have “Baby Amtrak” right now. Actually it’d probably be more like “Baby I Hate Amtrak” if they left me on a powerless train.
But that didn’t happen & we’re home safe & sound, back to blogging from the comfort of my own bed while Samster watches Dora.
I have to admit I’m a little consumed with the possibility of this baby coming early. I’m only 33 weeks but my body is acting like it did when I was 36 weeks along with Samster. But who knows, I know this time of early contracting can last for weeks so I may be getting all wound up for nothing. Sigh. I hate not knowing!
Regardless the Tutu Drive is still in full force! Tomorrow I’ll post pics of the BEAUTIFUL tutus I picked up from the post office, seriously, you guys are incredible!!!
Hope you’re having a great weekend. Do me a favor & send some good cervix luck my way that baby Chum Chum stays in a few weeks longer. (:
The Sassy Crafter
are you accepting tutus made by others? I have tons of tulle at home, from when I used to sell my tutus, and don't know what to do with it….just let me know!!!!

Love the beach pictures! Sam looks like she's having fun and look at that baby belly!
I'm glad you didn't get stuck on the train, that would've sucked… a lot. Of course, you probably would've gotten free amtrak for life if you had the baby on there and really named it Baby Amtrak.

totally feel you…baby #2 is due in THREE weeks and my stomach feels like it has reached full capacity and can't handle it much longer. π jealous that you are close to the beach- so wanted to take my son this summer but it is too far…and too hot for me! π

I am so glad your family had such a great time and that you didn't get your new addition on the Amtrack! I can only imagine being 33 weeks on a train that was stuck without ac for 2 hours, I would have lost my cool really quickly! I am happy that didn't happen to you!

I totally feel ya! I had constant contractions starting at about 30 weeks or so with both my babies and my first came at 36 weeks (8 lbs!!) and the second came at 37 weeks (6 lbs 14 oz). No one understands me when I try to tell them that they just happen all the time. They say "Oh they're just Braxton Hicks" and I say "NO SIR!! I can time these suckers around the clock NO MATTER WHAT I DO!!" And my doctor says drink 6 gallons of water a day. HA. I'm glad to find some one else who gets crazy contractions too!! <3 I hope that your little one doesn't come THIS early though!! It is so frustrating having no idea if you are actually in labor or not. π

Best wishes for keeping your little pie cookin'

Glad you are home…hope the baby decided that it's too soon to leave!!!

Cute pics. I'm the same way. I always tell my husband not to post on Facebook that we're out of town. I think someone will break in and rob us OR break in and install creepy cameras in personal places. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!

YAY! A baby update! π You look great Natasha!!! Sorry you are having the pre-term contractions, I had those about 5 weeks ago–thank goodness it only lasted a couple of hours. I am now down to the wire. I have only about 3 weeks left myself. It is great that you and your family were able to get to the coast to cool off a little. We went around Father's Day and it was he perfect break.
I am going to be sending tutus your way by the end of this week, I have just been distracted by my other sewing projects.
Have you heard of the Scandi Mei Tai? I made one and it turned out great, especially for me–a not so skilled person in the sewing area. I will post pics on mu blog in the next day or so. I will also be keeping you in our family prayers, that your little baby stays put at least til you get close to 37 weeks-for healthy litte one!

Samantha is too adorable. Love the bathing suit. And you look so cute with your preggo belly! Im glad you guys decided to take the train and din't get stuck because that would have definitely been awful for you, baby chum chum and Samantha.
Vicky
So lucky not to get stuck on that train. But on the plus side, no other kids in "Amtrak's" class would have the same name!
Only joking, weeks of contraction aren't fun, and you do get a little fed up with your body crying wolf all the time! I also had contractions for about a fortnight before my last baby was born and my nan (a midwife) swore that they had shortened my labour considerably, so hopefully that will be the same for you when "Chum Chum" does put in a apperance. Until then relax and fingers (& maybe legs) crossed. x

Of everything you said in this post, I just keep going back to your tiny daughter's adorable little thighs and sighing at the memories of nibbling yummy baby fat places and listening to the squeals of laughter from my three.
