Please tell me I’m not the last person to hear about a ‘haul’ video? Please.
My sisters & I were online shopping & they kept talking about checking for ‘haul videos’ to see what the clothes we were thinking of buying looked like. After realizing that we were most certainly NOT speaking about some sort of transportation videos I finally asked & they showed me these youtube videos girls their age make where they basically show you all the crap they just bought. Apparently the good ones leave you feeling like you just got a clothing review on a real live person. I guess I get it. (For example, I’ve heard this girl is pretty good & considering that video has over 826,000 views I’m gonna say girlfriend is doing something right) By the way, I feel like this is terrible to say but teenage girls drive me BUH-NANAS. I wanted to smack that kid. Isn’t that awful? I need to get over that considering I have two that are going to be all “OMGOSH LIKE FOR REAL!” before I know it. But I digress, my issue, not yours…
These haul videos did lead me to something pretty awesome though which is the purpose of this post, I had to share her with you asap, LISA ELDRIDGE. Omgosh, I’m OBSESSED. Did you see this pic that P instagrammed of me? These are the videos I was neglecting my husband to watch. Apparently she’s a celebrity makeup artist (Jessica Biel & Scarlett Johansson to name a few) & she does these fantastic video tutorials on everything from how to do a smokey eye to the best red lipstick for your skin tone. It doesn’t hurt that she has a ridiculously soothing British accent, she should seriously consider making videos where she just reads bedtime stories, but her tips just make sense. All in all, she’s a great teacher if you’d like to expand your makeup routine/rut a bit. In fact, her videos have inspired me to up my game, who knew I loved a baby cateye or a fuschia lip?? I mean seriously, if you told me, miss lip gloss, a year ago that I’d be completely comfortable wearing bright red or fuschia lipstick I would’ve thought you were a crackhead but much like crack, or so I’ve heard, it’s kind of fun once you try it!
I’ve had a handful of you requesting I put up a video of how I do my makeup for the LPM YouTube videos & since I have all these new goodies to share I thought I’d kill two birds with one stone, and don’t you dare make fun of my no makeup face! I either have really big man spuds for putting this out there or I’m just dumb. Perhaps a little of both.

Love the tutorial 🙂 dark circles is my biggest battle too and i can’t wait to try some of your tips !
Natasha
Yay! So happy to hear that! Not about the dark circles, that part sucks. And by the way please don’t be shocked at the sticker price of that concealer. I went back and forth about whether or not to purchase it because $70 is RIDICULOUS but I really have wasted so much $$$ on ones that don’t work that I went for it. SO glad I did, it actually works & I’m sure that stick will last for at least a year. Before I was buying a $28 one & having to replace it 3x a year so….
Katharine
I LOVE this! I’m so glad you did a tutorial – and you made it so approachable. Love.
Katharine
Also, I’ve been hemming and hawing about whether or not to splurge on the YSL brightener. I’m officially convinced!
Amanda
LOVE LOVE LOVE this post!! Dark circles plague me too and I’ve tried so many things. Also, we use the same BB cream!! I literally yelled “Hey! That’s what I use!” at the computer. I love it. I’m for sure trying the bright lipstick though. I see those bright colors at the store and always think they’re too bold, but seeing how bright yours was on the stick but how different it actually looks on you makes me want to try something new! Thanks for the inspiration!!
Jessy
I love this. I’m almost 30 and am still intimidated by makeup but you made this seem do-able. Thank you for giving a video tutorial with easy to understand instructions and not making me feel like I need 700 brushes to do makeup. I’m feeling inspired to try the little cat eye 🙂
stephanie
so, how much, on average do you think you spend in makeup? i never drop big bucks on it, but you have me thinking that i should splurge! i have been using the same makeup for YEARS and i feel like i need a pick me up.

I just went and bought the Stila Liquid Liner – I’ve been meaning to buy something like that to make my winged eyes (have just been using the MAC pots) ’cause I can’t get the perfect pointed wings with a brush and pot liner…so I watched your video & then I made myself get up and go buy it from Sephora 🙂 can’t wait to use it tomorrow! xo
Angela
Cool!

Okay, I bought the elf versions of the highlighter and bronzer and, I know it is a little silly, but I did your tricks and I felt really quite good about myself. I have four kids and am so happy, but also, so very tired. It was nice to take another five minutes to do a little makeup. It’s made my day kind of cool. (How vain do I sound? I don’t mean to. ) Thanks so much for posting this.
Natasha
Not vain at all! I don’t think there’s anything wrong with feeling pretty, or with that making your day a little better! I’m so so excited the video helped (:
Whitney
I have super bad dark circles too and finally splurged on the YSL concealer- soo worth it! I cant wait to try your under eye tips!
Kerry
I LOVE Lisa Eldridge. Pixiwoo is great too–it’s two sisters who are makeup artists in England. I actually found Lisa through Pixiwoo.
Natasha
Oh great, just what I need, more fabulous makeup artist encouraging me to buy more makeup! Lol! Of course I immediately looking them up (:
Kerry
I know! It’s like a sickness. I had to take a break from watching the videos for a while because I was buying too much makeup. Lisa and Sam (from Pixiwoo) are my favorites, but I like watching Melmphs because her Southern accent is so sweet. Have fun watching more (and buying more)!
BBB
Darn it lady, I had zero thoughts about makeup and now all I want to do is buy everything you listed. Boo!!!!!
Lisa
I was thinking the same thing!
Natasha
I know, I’m such a bad friend. (;
Stephany
I love your videos (this included) but I would be lying if my jaw didn’t drop seeing you dip your fingers into the Naked palette!!! I was almost yelling at the screen at work haha. My advice is to get an eye primer (Urban Decay Primer Potion is a go-to for most beauty bloggers) and invest in at least two makeup brushes (even just cheaper ones from Sephora…not a MAC snob here!). The primer will up the color impact and the brushes can get so much precision (and pack on color more efficiently, especially that iridescent Sin, or blend out to make it softer) once you get used to them I promise! Still, great look/great outcome so do your thing!
Sincerely,
Not a Teenager But Probably Equally as Annoying Mid-Twenty Year Old
Natasha
LOL, oh no! I had no idea I was committing such a beauty no no! I have bought some before, cheap ones, expensive ones & I just can’t get the hang of it, perhaps I need a good teacher! (:
Brooke
Love your tutorial. I need fuschia lipstick in my life!
The girls watched with me and when it was over, Ava wanted to know if there were any more videos with Sam. She has a little fan club here. 🙂
Natasha
Sam wants to know why there aren’t more videos with Sam too (:
Go buy that lipstick! It would look super pretty with you’re green eyes!
Erika
Omg, fushia lip color here I come! We kinda have the same olive-y skin complexion- what color did you use for the ysl touche eclat radiant touch? Cant wait for the next make up tutorial. Thanks!
Natasha
I used number 2 for the concealor, it has a slight yellow undertone and is a great match. Go get the lipstick, you’ll LOVE LOVE LOVE it!
Melanie
I watched your turtorial with my 14 year old daughter and we both loved it.. .Of course, she knew exactly what a “haul” was and gave me some other insights (Do you know what the term hitting pan means? Makeup almost gone!) Thanks for all links and suggestions… I can’t to get some BB cream… .. I have the racoon eyes so will be investing in the concealer too. . My birthday is coming up and I deserve it, right? Keep the turtorials coming we love them 8-)))
Samantha
I’m partially obsessed with watching beauty videos on Youtube, it’s been about 6 years since I started watching them consistantly and I have learned so much! haha I wouldn’t say using your fingers is a bad thing, as long as you’re the only one using the product and you are using clean fingers! Even some of the top “beauty gurus” and makeup artists use their fingers 😛
Jackie
What do we think about this as a wedding lipstick, if I am going for a classic look? Too bold or just right??
Natasha
I think it would look GORGEOUS with a wedding dress! Especially if you’re going with a more flowy, natural hair style. It might be a bit much with a formal, tight updo…you know?
TSally
I watch a youtube channel. Her name is Kasey and she runs stillglamoruscosmetics.com. I LOVE LOVE LOVE her videos!!! She is absolutely wonderful too. Try her 🙂
Amy
Hey lovely lady, thank you for this post!! I have been sooo stuck in a rut with my make up lately (also being a busy working Mummy like yourself!) I have started reading your blogs and love them all! Keep em coming and you look fab! xx
Natasha
Awww, you are so very welcome! It’s so easy to get stuck in a makeup/style rut, I think I’m in a hair one now…bleh
