People keep telling me that I shouldn’t make a big deal out of Samster’s first birthday, she won’t even remember it, right? Well, I guess I just can’t get that to sink in because I am TOTALLY sold on the idea of having an all out birthday party for her!!!
And not just any bday party, a CUPCAKE BIRTHDAY PARTY! Woohoo!! So far I’ve ordered the invitations above and the ‘sweet tooth’ cupcake fabric below. I’m going to attempt to make her party dress myself, (wincing while typing that) I have an idea in my head that is SO cute and if I can pull it off it will be really special. It involves that fabric and lots of different colored tulle. Dangerously girly.
So if anyone has any other ideas please let me know. I’m torn between baking my own variety of cupcakes or ordering them from one of those yummy cupcake bakeries. Also we’re inviting kids that are mostly Sam’s age but some have older siblings, any tips on how to entertain kids of different ages? I was thinking maybe a face painter would be fun, we met a good one at the Baby Loves Disco event. And yes, I know, Sam won’t even remember, but you know what, I’ll remember and you’d better believe there will be pictures for her to look at later!

I love reading your blogs and when I read this one all I could think about was one place… Georgetown Cupcake. http://georgetowncupcake.com/home.html you will NOT be disappointed. Red Velvet is my personal fav. If you are in the Gtown area with your family I would just check it out to see if you like it, but I can guarantee you will 🙂

You go girl! You should have a huge birthday party for her! You only turn one once! I can’t wait to see her dress. I am sure it will turn out perfect. All of your crafts, etc. have turned out wonderful. You have a lovely little family. Keep up the great job!

I am planning on a cupcake party for my little girl’s first too! I just ordered a bunch of really cute cupcake toppers, liners, and icing colors from bakeitpretty.com. Really fun stuff and affordable too if you make your own.

My little girl just turned one last week and we had a huge blow out. We got a moonbounce and everyone made fun of me b/c they thought it was too old for my baby, well she loved it so much and all the parents thanked me afterwards b/c they didn't have to worry about entertaining their children b/c the moonbounce did that for them. Just a thought and they have really pretty girly ones too. 🙂
