This little contraption has truly become a golden nugget in the pink monster arsenal. P said he wanted to get a MiFi awhile back & honestly I had no clue what he was talking about, but he works hard so if he wanted to get a new little gadget than by all means, gadget away. When we went to Palm Island however that little gadget & I became BFF’s. Mifi is a cellular Wi-Fi hotspot you purchase through your cellular carrier. Basically portable internet in a box. In fact, right now it’s saving my butt because we’re in the middle of a 5 hr drive home from Connecticut, the kids are sleeping, hubs is driving & I’m due for a blog post. Normally the best I’d be able to do is type out the text for my post & transfer it later when I got home but with Mi-Fi I have full internet access wherever I am.
Now yes some could argue that there’s such a thing as too much technology & the internet is overtaking our lives & replacing family conversations with high speed surfing. To you I say, “tthhhhbbbbtttt.” I’m pretty darn sure you’re on the internet right now to be reading this & as a mom to 2 kids under 3 I have to take the quiet time whenever it shows it’s beautiful face. A gadget like MiFi makes that possible & to me that’s worth it’s weight in gold.

Hi Natasha, I was wondering if your gaget husband would know of a device (maybe this one is it) that can get me wifi when my iPhone has no signal? It is frustrating when we go out to our vacation home, and everyone that is on Verizon gets a good signal and can use their smart phones, but since I have AT&T I get nothing, zip zilch nada.
Does he know of a device I can get a wifi boost when I have no service? I am just sick of the family members making fun of me for having to borrow their devices in order to access the internet. I want to be in the “in” crowd when I am out there but not have to switch carriers. Thanks! Stephanie
You know what’s interesting is ours is actually through AT&T but I’m not sure if the cell signal is bad if this connection would be bad too…I know it worked perfectly on vacation! I’ll ask him…

The hubby and I are on our way back to NOVA from the Danbury area ourselves with a two month old. We’ll have to get a MiFi ourselves to make all those trips back and forth more bearable! Thanks for the idea 🙂
So this is what I need to look into then…we’re still on a dialup connection. I know, right!! And our phone service told us tough luck on getting to us anytime soon. Oh, I can’t wait for the day I can tell them tough luck on getting anymore money from me!! I wll be researching me some mifi right now!!
I absolutely LOVE your blog. So we just got rid of our cable service with Time Warner cable and had to switch to a new internet provider that we did not like. I told my husband about your blog post, and wahlah, we now have a Verizon MiFi. Thanks soo much for all of your great craft, cooking, and technological ideas 🙂
